So as it turns out, The first method does not work for me.
I mean it does work for LAN, but it does not let me log onto battle.net (for some odd reason)
However, it seems that the first method works for some people (seeing as how it is a thing)
However #2, I would personally recommend using the alternate method with the registry.
Thats the one that im using right now and it works perfectly.
I forgot to mention that for any method that you are using you MUST close your wc3 before starting these steps.
Only AFTER you are done can you open wc3 up.
I thought that it would be common knowledge to close something first before modifying it,
but this is just in case some people don't know that.
Since people chaossniper keep complaining about Unifont i decided to make a guide. its really simple.
first of all:
The instructions here are brief and nice.
So just dl the rar (from the forum where hvsh posted) to your desktop and then move it to your wc3 folder.
then right click and press extract here
then you'll get a folder named 'unifont'
Before you do anything else first find the file named War3Path.mpq, make a copy of it and rename the copy to War3Path-backup.mpq.
You can store your War3Path-backup.mpq in a different folder for safekeeping
now you're set to manipulate the mpq file.
open the folder 'unifont' and run setup.bat by right clicking and pressing run as administrator
And bam you're done!
Here are before and after pics
Now there is an alternative way of doing this as well.
I guess you could say its a little riskier to do, at least hvsh doesn't like it XD
but if you've done hpbars or UI customizations (for UI customizations there are ways of not using a .reg file but for those that have used a .reg file for UI's) you've already run a .reg file which alters your registry. All this .reg file does is it tells wc3 to look at your local files for the font instead of its own files.
If you have already run a .reg file then all you need to do is put the Fonts folder with the font inside in your wc3 directory and wc3 should automatically run it since you've already told wc3 where to look.
now first things first you need to dl the files i've provided in the attachments
(the file was too big so ill just do this : http://www.mediafire.com/download/4ujcx ... /Fonts.rar )
On your Desktop, right click the Fonts.rar file and click "Extract Here".
It will extract a file and folder to your desktop: the Fonts folder and a file named CUSTOMBG.reg
Drag/copy the Fonts folder to your wc3 directory.
Now for those that are scared of what might happen to their registry you can back it up with these simple steps
first open registry editor, or regedit.exe
a window like this will popup
then press file -> export it to a place you'll know where and name it something good.
now you'll have a .reg file with all your registry settings saved.
Now that you've backed it up you can now run CUSTOMBG.reg which will tell wc3 to look at your local files instead of its own files for running things like fonts or UI or HP bars.
To run CUSTOMBG.reg just double click and a window will popup, press yes and then okay.
To revert to your old settings for your registry just run your reg-backup.reg that you made and press yes and then okay.
If you liked this please tell me, if you'd like to add something please tell me,
If you'd like me to do a guide for kloader then tell me too
